Matchbox, the well-known restaurant chain famous for its wood-fired pizzas and American comfort food, has introduced a refreshed logo and updated menu across its DC area locations. The changes reflect guest feedback and signal a new chapter for the brand.

A Fresh Brand Look Inspired by Guest Feedback

The updated brand identity includes a redesigned match icon, a deeper maroon color palette, and cleaner typography. According to Matchbox, the refresh balances the brand’s history with a more modern and energetic feel.

Sarah Zubair, Senior Brand Manager at Thompson Restaurants, which owns Matchbox, said customer feedback guided the changes. Guests asked for more shareable food options and a stronger sense of personality from the brand. The new look aims to deliver both.

Menu Updates Bring Back Fan Favorites

Alongside the visual refresh, Matchbox has made notable updates to its menu. One of the biggest highlights is the return of the popular Miso Salmon, a dish many loyal guests had missed.

The restaurant has also introduced new vegetable-focused side dishes, including wood-fired heirloom carrots, hearth-roasted wild mushrooms, and charcoal-roasted cauliflower. These additions respond to growing interest in lighter and more balanced menu options.

Revamped Drinks and New Happy Hour Offering

The drink menu has also been refreshed. New items include a Nitro Grey Goose Espresso Martini and a broader range of zero-proof cocktails for guests who prefer non alcoholic options.

For happy hour, Matchbox has added the Box Seat Sampler. This is a tower of shareable finger foods designed for groups and casual dining.
